Find the property that’s right for you

Finding the ideal spot these days can be quite a difficult task, especially when confronted by the ever-expanding urban jungle in Bangkok and in many of its surrounding provinces.   The feeling can be overwhelming; and at times, quite daunting.   Living in the digital age provides many conveniences, one of which is the Internet.   We need to take time sifting through and vetting the right information.

Get the expert’s advice

There are many self-proclaimed experts out there, but how much do they really know about all the ins and outs of this market.  One consultant’s advice could be another one’s warning; therefore, you’ll need to go through and choose a select few.  Go and make an appointments with them.  Have them take you on a few open house showings around an area of interest to you.  If you already did your homework on a certain area, then print it out and bring it with you.  After repeating the same process for about a week, you’ll be able to quickly tell who to trust with your decision.

Do your own due diligence

Before signing the contract, find out what the neighborhood is like.  It’s one thing to look at a map and spot all of the landmarks and restaurants, and it’s whole other feeling to go there and walk a few blocks around the property.  You don’t want to make a hasty decision of signing the papers without first taking the time to tour your future surroundings.  As the old adage goes, ‘haste makes waste’.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Our assessment

As an agency, we’ve assessed  that what we’ve highlighted through this post  tends to ring true most of the time.  We’ve seen it all too often when a tenant follows the opposite course of action and rushes into a condo or apartment, and ends up calling us the next day with a list full of complaints.  At that point, we tell them to take their grievances and have the landlord deal with them.  They neglect to understand our role in the exchange.  But in the end, we do sympathize with them and hope their next home search involves more time, patience and due diligence.  We hope you’ve garnered something worthwhile from this post.  If you have, please don’t forget to follow us on on all our Social media outlets.
